Our Story
Our company began in 2010 with Beth Mazerik envisioning and creating a 6-bed care home full of life and good old-fashioned fun. Being a formal Activities Director in skilled nursing, Beth wanted to bring her creative energy and love of resident engagement to her own care environment. We have always strived to make the time and space for our residents and our care staff to enjoy being with each other, knowing that this will create better care outcomes for our residents. It turns out that our approach has also made our caregiver’s jobs more enjoyable and engaging. We pride ourselves in our long-term staff who we know and trust, with many caregivers having worked for us for 5, 10, and 15 years! This family environment means that you can be sure that your loved one is being treated as a valued individual, and that we are doing our very best to meet their needs, to make them comfortable and to help them feel loved.
Meet Our Team
Karie Mazerik, Owner/Administrator
Karie brings a wealth of experience in Office Administration, AP and Payroll. She assists our families with billing, long term care insurance policies, and other paperwork needs. Karie also helps organize and publish our Monthly Activities Calendar. Getting to share her musical abilities with the residents, and share her faithful puppy companion, Addie, are two things that bring her a lot of joy in her work at our homes!Matt Mazerik, Owner/Administrator
Matt brings years of leadership experience in educational settings as well as our care homes. Ever the people person, he loves the opportunity to connect with our residents and staff on a personal level, play guitar and sing with them, and sit down to meals together. Matt takes an active hand in continued training for our staff, ongoing communication with families, and ensuring that the behind-the-scenes work is done well, so that your loved one gets the best care possible.Beth Mazerik, Founder
Beth Mazerik founded our company, Songbird Care Homes, in 2010. Throughout her work, she has provided compassionate care to our residents as a Caregiver, Administrator, Activities Director, Chef, Chauffeur...you name it and when it comes to serving our residents, she's done it! She is now enjoying retirement but still comes to play music for the residents along with her husband, Jim. She also leads the Sages group at Cypress Community Church.Services Offered
